There are all types of new and useful gardening gadgets on the market, developed by people who love to garden. The following are some tips on the latest gardening equipment on the market, and how it can make your gardening experience easier and more enjoyable. Gardening style can always be perfected.

Clean up your garden at the end of the growing season. If you clean up your garden when the growing season is over, it will improve the appearance and make less work for you the following year. Remove dead or damaged branches on trees and shrubs, get rid of weeds before they go to seed, and rake any leaves from the lawn. Remove old annual plants and cut perennials to the ground if they normally die back in the winter. Any plant material that isn't diseased can be put in the compost pile.

Be careful when applying mulch. Too much can suffocate a plant's roots and prevent moisture from penetrating deeply into the soil. Too little will not be able to suppress weed growth, effectively. An appropriate amount is 2 to 3 inches of organic mulch. Always keep mulch away from a plant's crown or stems.

Use as few chemicals as possible in your garden to grow the healthiest foods. Any chemicals that you apply to control weeds or insects are bound to get into the plants that are growing. Try using as many natural methods of weed and insect control as possible to limit the possibility that chemicals will wind up in your food.

Be sure to keep up with the weeding once you plant your garden so that the weeds do not get out of control. Spending a few minutes each day to pull weeds and control insects is well worth your while. If you don't do this, you could find that weeds and insects take over the garden.

Manually remove insects from the plants in your garden whenever possible so that you do not contaminate your plants and foods with chemicals. It is frequently possible to control insects in the garden by picking them off plants with your fingers and dropping them into a bucket of soapy water. This is preferable to spraying all kinds of chemicals on your plants.

If you are an experienced gardener, but tend to use only your same trusted tools, you may be surprised to find some new innovations that you will soon, not be able to live without. Seasoned gardeners will be unable to deny the attraction of some of these latest gadgets.
