If you are a fan of gardens, Austin, Texas is a city you should pay a visit. Below you will find a list with four wonderful gardens in Austin you can't skip, including Zilker Botanical Garden, Mayfield Park Gardens and Cottage, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Stephen F. Austin State Park.

Zilker Botanical Garden

Opened in 1955, the thirty acre Zilker Botanical Garden is generally known as the jewel in the center of Austin. The Austin gardens feature a variety of plants and flowers, including rose garden, Japanese garden, herb and fragrance garden and a lot more. The Botanical gardens also include a gift shop with educational classes, reports releases and tours of the gardens.

Mayfield Park Gardens and Cottage

Enjoy a fine example of Austin public parks when you visit the Mayfield Park Gardens and Cottage. Built around an 1870's historic cottage, the Mayfield Park Gardens are a good spot to host special events like marriages among the colorful types of flowers along with water lilies and shady palms. The park is a great spot for taking photographs or simply relaxing in a sweet setting for the day.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the School of Texas at Austin is among the most well-liked gardens in Austin. The Wildflower Center covers 1 or 2 acres of local wildflowers along with a wetlands, meadows, trails and more. The garden entrance is covered with Texas mountain laurels and there are some exhibits and classes given to help find out more about the local flora.

Stephen F. Austin State Park

Located on the Brazos river near Austin, the Stephen F. Austin State Park includes interpretive trails, camping sites, bike trails and historic tours. The state park also has gardens with local flora and natural wildlife to give you a great feel of what an Austin landscape really is.

Texas is the largest state in the U.S, and being the largest state it has some of the best outdoors activities, gardens, and parks. There are way more cities in Texas like Dallas and Houston, and though you could be staying in a Dallas hotel or Houston Resorts and enjoying the benefit of the indoors get out there and see what the town has to provide in the ways fo nature, gardens, and walking trails!
